Started in 2012

Nantwich Mill Hydro Electric Generation Company is a not for profit company – of the community for the community.

The six partners are all local Nantwich people with a long standing commitment to community service and environmental improvement.

Drawn from local community organisations such as the local Rotary Club, South Cheshire Greenspaces and South Cheshire Friends of the Earth, the team brings together ethical commitment with business acumen and experience.

One of our Patrons is a man who has, since the 1970s, dedicated his life to driving environmental action at all levels. Jonathan Porritt is locally connected through his position as Chancellor of Keele University.

Nantwich Mill Hydro is also privileged to have the backing of one of the nation’s favourite singer songwriters. Thea Gilmore is also a proud Nantwich resident and founder of the town’s vibrant Words and Music Festival.
